Recruitment of Local Support Staff for the Canadian Election Observation Mission to Ukraine Mission Canada 2019
Background:
Established in 1996 with Canadian Government start-up funding, CANADEM is an international not-for-profit NGO dedicated to advancing international peace and security through the rostering, rapid mobilization, and mission management of experts committed to International Service with the UN, other IGOs, NGOs, and governments. In the past, CANADEM has worked with the Government of Canada to send observers to monitor elections around the world. With over 130 missions deployed to more than 40 countries, CANADEM has played a crucial role in strengthening the democratic process globally. By drawing on a civilian reserve of screened Canadian electoral and governance experts, we short-list observer candidates and conduct deployment logistics for selected candidates. CANADEM will observe the parliamentary elections scheduled for 21 July 2019 and is preparing to deploy an Election Observation Mission (EOM) for these elections. In this respect, CANADEM is looking to recruit local support staff for the below mentioned positions on full-time basis:
Program positions:

Assistant to the Chief of Staff – 1 position

Assistant to the Legal and Electoral Analyst – 2 positions

Assistant to the Gender and Social Inclusion Analyst – 1 position

Assistant to the Political Analyst - 1 position

Assistant to the Director of Communications - 1 position

Media Environment Assistant to the Media & Information Environment Analyst – 3 positions
Administrative positions:

Assistant to the Manager of Locally Engaged Personnel and Logistics Manager– 3 positions

Assistant to the Director of Field Observers – 1 position

Assistant to the Financial Manager – 1 position

IT & Telecommunications Assistant – 1 position

Drivers with vehicles (vans) – 2 positions
Regional positions - support staff to Long Term Observers (locations are subject to change, confirmation at a later stage of recruitment):

Long Term Observer Interpreter (1 position) and Long Term Observer Driver with vehicle (1 position) for the follow cities: Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Chernivtsi, Dnipro, Kherson, Kropyvnytskyi, Kyiv, Lviv, Mariupol, Poltava, Zhytomyr, Kharkiv, Odesa, Ternopil, Khmelnytsky, Lutsk, Uzhgorod, Ivano-Frankivsk, Rivne, Vinnytsya.
Start date of employment for administrative positions: 10 June 2019 (approx.)
Start date of employment for program positions: 11 June 2019 (approx.)
Start date of employment for regional positions: 22 June 2019 (approx.)
Approximate duration of employment: 6-10 weeks depending on the post.
Location: Kyiv, Ukraine (except drivers and interpreters for Long Term Observers)
